Why did Jongert BV choose MAN engines?
Erik Prooijen from Jongert BV Wieringerwerf is in no doubt.
‘Our customer expressed a preference for MAN engines. The two Common Rail diesel engines, type R6 800, each with an output of 800hp, are light, economical and almost noiseless. And the performances of the engines fully meet all expectations, so that’s why we chose to use MAN engines.
The construction and delivery of the 18.40-metre long and 5.40-metre wide yacht is a good example of hard work and careful planning. We built the yacht in just ten months, from engineering to launch. That’s an exceptionally short time.
MAN Rollo was responsible for the commissioning, which went smoothly and according to plan. MAN Rollo’s service engineers are good at tackling these types of problems and they come up with great ideas. For us, it was the first time we worked with MAN Rollo and this experience plus the performance of the MAN R6-800 bode well for future collaboration.’
