DBR and MAN Rollo intensify their collaboration
DBR b.v. is an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) packager that, in collaboration with MAN Rollo, builds complete generator sets for the maritime and industrial sectors.
DBR is a family business founded in 1965; it has grown to become a leading packager of generator sets, pump sets and hydraulic power packs.
‘For more than 10 years, MAN Rollo has been supplying MAN engines for our generator sets that are used on-board vessels and platforms,’ says Henri Hafkamp, Sales Manager at DBR. ‘They are diesel engines that we install either open or containerised, dependent on the wishes of the customer. We choose to use MAN engines because we are very satisfied with the quality of these fundamentally mechanical engines. They are robust, powerful and a great example of German solidity. We specifically choose MAN Rollo to supply the engines because we consider the human aspect just as important as engine performance. The lines of communication with MAN Rollo are short and we understand each other. There is a feeling of mutual trust and effective interaction. This makes working together very pleasant.’
‘We have recently been discussing with MAN Rollo the possibilities for supplying permanent power solutions, whether or not containerised, for various applications in the industrial sector. The first step has been taken. We have worked together on replacing the motor of a large harbour crane. DBR assembled the generator set, consisting of a MAN D2862LE221 engine, Marelli generator and a local control panel on a robust skid frame. This is a good example of how we work as an OEM packager. This project heralded the start of how we are together extending our services in the industrial sector.’
DBR specialises in developing, assembling, testing and commissioning turnkey solutions based on generator sets. The company focuses on the offshore, ocean-going shipping, dredging and luxury yacht construction sectors and on critical power supply solutions for onshore projects. Since 2009, DBR has become more directly active internationally; it now has a worldwide sales and service network. It considers ‘continuing to guarantee the reliability of its installations, now and in the future’ to be most important. Here, continuity and flexibility are of essential importance.
